Rain Event Tracker API

Your jobsite data, in your own systems.

A read-only API for your company's jobsites: current status, rain event history, and submitted inspection forms. Pull compliance data into the dashboards, reports, and tools your team already uses.

What you can read

Four endpoints cover the records your compliance program runs on. Every one is a simple GET with JSON back.

GET /jobsites

Every jobsite

Name, address, permit, risk level, WDID, current status, and rain in the current event.

GET /jobsites/{id}

One jobsite, right now

The site's status plus the rain event it's in, with its running rain total.

GET /jobsites/{id}/events

Rain event history

Past and current events, with start and end times, rain totals, and when each status was reached.

GET /jobsites/{id}/forms

Submitted forms

Form type, inspection date and time, submission time, and the rain event each was filed under.

One request per answer

Which sites need a pre-inspection today? How much rain fell during last week's event? Was the post-inspection filed? Ask the API instead of exporting spreadsheets.

Up and running in minutes

No SDK to install. Any language or tool that can make an HTTPS request can use it, and the docs let you try every endpoint with your own key in the browser.

01

Create a key

A company manager creates a key under Settings → API Keys. It's shown once, so copy it somewhere safe.

02

Send it with each request

Pass the key as a bearer token to api.raineventapp.com/v1. Revoke it anytime from the same screen.

03

Page through results

Lists come in pages with a cursor and a total count. Each key gets 60 requests a minute.

Read-only, by design.

The API can't create, change, or delete anything, and a key only ever sees your own company's jobsites. Form answers, photos, and PDF reports stay in the app.

API questions

Who can create an API key?+

Company managers create keys in Rain Event Tracker under Settings → API Keys. A key is shown once, when it is created, so store it somewhere safe.

What can a key see?+

A key can read every jobsite in your company: its current status and rain event, its rain event history, and its submitted forms. It can't see any other company's data, and it can't change anything.

Does the API include form answers, photos, or PDFs?+

No. The API lists each submitted form's type, inspection date and time, submission time, and the rain event it was filed under. Form answers, photos, and PDF reports stay in the app.

Are there rate limits?+

Each key can make 60 requests per minute. Every response tells you how many requests you have left, and past the limit the API answers with a 429 and a Retry-After header.

How do I turn a key off?+

Revoke it under Settings → API Keys and it stops working right away. A key also stops working if the manager who created it is deactivated.

Try it free for 30 days.

Track every rain event, inspection, and form in Rain Event Tracker, then read it all from your own systems with the API.
